Anamorphosis / Iceland

Optical and poetic, this new installation by Vincent Leroy continues to explore the dialogue between art and nature & between a work and its environment. For the French artist, it represents the interaction between the landscape and the device that creates the work, each place acts like a biotope and produces a different result.

Lost in Icelandic nature, 3 enigmatic volumes slowly turn on themselves in a silent and continuous movement. Like a mirage, the polymirror monoliths blend into the landscape while transforming it. Their irregular surfaces produce an inverted anamorphosis and reflect a distorted view of their surroundings. The landscape expands, the horizon stretches endlessly, the lines become curved ... The surfaces are reflected in each other and multiply the effects over and over, creating an hypnotic
